Jakarta, 08 Mei 2018– Komandan Pos Pengamat (Danposmat) TNI Angkatan Laut Bengkayang Serka Kom Fransiskus melaksanakan Pelatihan Basic Safety Training (BST) dan Praktek Personal Survival Technic (PST) di Sekolah Usaha Perikanan Menengah (SUPM) Negeri Pontianak, Jalan Pembangunan Nipah Kuning, Kalimantan Barat, Senin (7/5).
Pelatihan Basic Safety Training (BST) mempraktekkan cara memadamkan api kecil, api sedang dan api besar, cara melempar selang pemadam, cara menggulung, cara mencampur Foam A, B dan C Tabung Briting Apparatus. Kegiatan ini dimaksudkan untuk memastikan bahwa pelaut sadar akan bahaya dari bekerja pada kapal dan dapat merespons dengan cepat dalam keadaan darurat. Pelatihan atau Basic Safety Training (BST) merupakan pelatihan darurat dirancang untuk personel kelautan berniat untuk bekerja pada instalasi lepas pantai di sektor maritim dan merupakan bagian dari proses umum lepas pantai keselamatan induksi.
Pelatihan Basic Safety Training (BST) ini mempraktekkan penyelamatan diri atau cara bertahan di laut pada saat darurat dan peran peninggalan kapal yang menjelaskan tentang cara penggunaan life bouy dan melemparnya, cara pemakaian life jacket, cara terjun meninggalkan kapal, cara mengapung membentuk lingkaran, cara renang berbanjar, cara renang membawa evakuasi korban, cara menjatuhkan life craft, cara membalikkan life craft yang terbalik, cara naik dan masuk life craft, cara keluar life craft, prosedur menurunkan life boat model close dari dewi-dewi kapal, menggunakan isyarat kasat mata (Life Smoke Signal, Rocket Parachute Flare dan Red Hand Flare), cara memakai baju cebur (Immersion Suit) dan cara terjun ke laut yang benar.
Harapan Para Instruktur agar semua pelaut-pelaut mendapatkan ilmu Basic Safety Training (BST) sehingga mengatasi kedaruratan di laut tidak salah lagi mengutamakan Zerro Acciedent dan mahir dalam menggunakan alat-alat keselamatan yang wajib ada diatas kapal.( Lsn).
